Why the Big Gun?

UPDATE (01/25/13): I was told when I asked the security guard holding the Big Gun this afternoon that they are not meant for Unit Owner activists. Of course, given no reason beyond this one must take it on faith. This Big Gun I view as a magnet for trouble and it would be no problem for someone with a handgun to settle the matter before the Big Gun is raised. Serious decisions are being made here and we need Unit Owners to engage the issues.

Why the Big Gun?

(original web post 01/17/13):  I have not heard of any reason for the Big Gun to now be a part of the security of the building? Is the Big Gun a warning or protection? A warning to Unit Owner activists or protection to unknown and unseen threats. I have never seen the need, has anyone else? Is there some sort of civil unrest coming that we have not heard about?

Is there extra money, OUR MONEY, needed for the Big Gun? Of course, decisions are made without Unit Owners witnessing meetings where decisions are made. Such meetings are held in secret and are private. No Unit Owners who are not being groomed by the developers need apply.

I was told the suggestion of the Big Gun came from the security company. Why? What threats have there been? I was further told that it is due to our being on a busy street with criminals lurking about. I have spent many hours outside late at night and during the day and have not seen them. Where are they hiding?

Where are the cameras we need to cut the security force and save money, OUR MONEY, in the long run? What is the long-term rational plan much less justified security arrangement? I will not expect this from the developer controlled Board and their minions on and off the Board.

Well, I will continue to watch what is taking place wherever or to whoever the Big Gun is pointed.
