The Fantasy Vision

Does everyone remember this among the wonderful ads and brochures and how about the salespeople and what they told us. I hear such fantasies continue. So after watching and remembering, cry and then laugh at the truth that is being exposed.

And, if the above is not enough and you need elevated blood pressure, here is the project's brochure.

Many posts are still issues and need to be read once again. At this main hub of postings watch for new posts and updates. Please get involved by spreading the word as to the issues here. We must document all that is taking place. Many documents need retrieval and assistance is needed in getting them scanned and posted.

Comedic Elevator Lights

Comedic Elevator Lights

Well I guess a little comedy had to be played with the elevator lights, too.  After all, how long before we all just fall on the floor out of frustration much less anger.  Better to fall on the floor laughing in hysterics as we witness another malfunction or reversal of our fortunate home.

The first picture was taken previously with the up green light on the bottom leading people to not enter the elevator though the arrow in the elevator was correct.  I cannot recall the floor but have seen this several times since then.  The bottom picture is from today on the 14th Floor with both lights on though no elevator was seen.

Working together?

Working together?

There is that word again.  Rehabilitation is not what we need.  As I had written, what is needed are elevators finally installed that are safe and inspected and given the appearance of what we paid for.  The elevator entrances when fixed look awful and bring the value of the building down.  When will this be fixed?  Or, will this be another several year complaint?

Working together is not what is taking place when meetings are secret and private and documents are withheld.  The situation in the building is deteriorating.

Cracks

Cracks

Last year, we had along with some other Unit Owners taken pictures of a few floors which we plan to do once again after the series on the entrances to the service elevator is complete.  Those photos of a few floors were lost and I was delayed on posting.

What was a significant discovery in view of everyone are the cracks.  Cracks are a problem in other buildings from what I have been told but we must watch those we have in this building and ask why they are there.  The following cracks are from the stairwell in the Shaw Tower which is the primary fire exit since it exits to the outside unlike the stairwell for garbage bins.

From floor to floor please notice the similar pattern of cracks that are now being spackled and painted.  Please go to the stairwells on various floors and examine all that is there and take notes and question.

These photos start at the 21st Floor and then go up a few floors. The photos are taken looking down then up to the left and over to the right.

After examining the stairwells take a look in the hallways and pay particular attention to a crack near the elevators going to the Mayflower Tower.  We have seen this crack from floor to ceiling on other floors.

Follow-up to the Follow-up Complaint on Elevator Non-Answer Answer

Follow-up to the Follow-up Complaint on Elevator Non-Answer Answer

Yes, after several requests still no copies to the original request made.  Please see the previous post regarding this complaint on the elevator:  http://sohocentralcondominium.blogspot.com/2014/01/follow-up-complaint-on-elevator-non.html

The insurance policies were given but why the severe delay on documents that, I assume, are much shorter in length if copying time of minutes is a concern.  All the gathering to make them available seems to be failing.

Seems No Lesson Learned

Seems No Lesson Learned (21st Floor)

See previous post on openings that small children may access.  Is there ever any thinking?  I have seen work on various floors and it is sickening.

Are You Selling?

Are You Selling?

I spoke with a Unit Owner who looked to sell one of their units.  They gave up since they would get less than what they paid for it.  We have heard this story of possible or actual loss before.  Is there any Unit Owner who has made a profit?

Just last week I saw a Unit Owner looking to sell but no one is willing to give a decent price.  The offers I was told were another potential loss.

I want everyone to remember what we and others were told about buying and selling.  I want everyone to recall what they were told about buying and then renting.  I want everyone to talk as much as possible about the reality now.  It is not a pretty picture.

Is there any pretty picture to be taken given all the problems?  Unit Owners are not keep current, Unit Owners are kept from Board meetings, Unit Owners are kept from committee meetings, Unit Owners are refused documents, Unit Owners are treated with disdain and, finally, Unit Owners are faced with legal situations that only compound the struggle for our property to increase and not decrease in value.

Elevator Mess Continues

Elevator Mess Continues

There are so many twists and turns, starts and stops with these awful elevators and their long failed history, a book may be written about all the issues and problems.  I was on the elevator in between the two elevators currently having an attempted final fix and installation the other day.  When it passed by the 33rd floor I felt the slight bump again.  But when it initially started down and after the bump sensation when stopping at the 30th floor there was noise as if it were hitting something and then things falling on it.

Now did I file another complaint?  No, since I survived and told someone on the 30th not to get into it.  After all, how many hours are there in the day to report all the noises, movements, sensations and other problems such as when an elevator could not decide to open when reaching the lobby.  If I had not pushed the open button that particular day, it would not have opened.  When I left that elevator it closed immediately leaving more people lined up in the lobby.

Imagine if everyone every day wrote about all the problems and not just the falls.

So here are some photos of one of the entrances in the middle of being repaired after being dismantled.  What a mess and what a sloppy job.

And you wonder why our walls are getting dirty like those of the mess allowed to take place at Bel-Air Soho before their independence.
