The Fantasy Vision

Does everyone remember this among the wonderful ads and brochures and how about the salespeople and what they told us. I hear such fantasies continue. So after watching and remembering, cry and then laugh at the truth that is being exposed.

And, if the above is not enough and you need elevated blood pressure, here is the project's brochure.

Many posts are still issues and need to be read once again. At this main hub of postings watch for new posts and updates. Please get involved by spreading the word as to the issues here. We must document all that is taking place. Many documents need retrieval and assistance is needed in getting them scanned and posted.

Certificate of Operation: Elevator

Certificate of Operation: Elevator

Does anyone know why our elevators do not have such a certificate as seen in the elevator located in Quezon City?

A Partial State of Awfulness on the 8th Floor

A Partial State of Awfulness on the 8th Floor

Look at elevator entrances on each floor and see the work done.  If the elevator entrances were done properly as sold and turned over in 2009, why could they not be properly restored now?  There are also photos on unrelated elevator problems.

The door to the utility room punched a hole in the wall.  We only hope that it is fixed better than holes we have seen patched in the past on the hallway walls.

Cracking on the walls.

This is just more of the rotten restoration work.  Again, if the entrances were done properly the first time, no reason the same cannot be done now.  The question is why is this not taking place?

This is that crack from floor to floor near the elevator going to the Mayflower tower.

This is another crack on the other side of the window.

Moulding separating from the wall.

Crack down the hallway of the Mayflower tower.

All elevators online or attempt?

All elevators online or attempt?

The other night I was told it appeared all elevators were running.  I thought is that not wonderful just before the annual meeting.  Well that must not have been what was seen.  I had not witnessed that the following day.  Even if all were running the restored entrances are unacceptable given their appearance.  Additionally, the bottom button light on the 21st Floor Service Elevator has not been lit for a very long time and the buttons for the Service Elevators were still taped on the 35th last night.  So how many other issues still exist?

When will the building have six fully functioning, fully inspected, fully government approved and fully restored elevators?

One step forward, one step backward so no progress

One step forward, one step backward so no progress

Yes, Passenger Elevator 5 was placed back online almost all cleaned up and seemingly running OK yesterday. But, being a cynic given the history of this miserable situation, I knew all would not be well. Today, a button out on that elevator which has been out of order for some time. It just never ends or gets better in so many ways.

Elevator Buttons

Elevator Buttons

This is just awful.  You would have to go into each elevator that may be working morning, noon and night to see which buttons are taped up and what changes have taken place.  It is like watching a new form of chess.  The only problem is that the members (Unit Owners) of Soho Central are in a state of continual check.  Is checkmate just another push of the button away?

These to taken several days ago.

These taken yesterday.

More Photos on the 35th Floor Elevator Entrances

Always remember, the situation is always changing as to the elevators running and entrance restoration conditions.  The 35th Floor service elevator had been torn apart and restored in a shoddy manner then the rust-like look appeared and now that has been painted over.  But, best for everyone to thoroughly look at each floor and every elevator entrance.

Elevator Disaster at Soho Central Condominium

Elevator Disaster at Soho Central Condominium

The elevators seem to be in state of total collapse to let everyone know. All the usual problems plus buttons not working and elevators out of service and now a doors unable to close with a loud ringing in one as it cannot close. For those not here, we hear more remarks from a greater number of people. Condo unit values can only drop at this point.

Today, the service elevator stopped at the 16th Floor with the door unable to open and then we were stuck having to press the alarm.  Someone came and asked what was wrong when the door was forced partially open.  A reply from someone in the elevator was, "Take a guess."

All the work being done is either shoddy or not solving the problems that should have never been.

I had a conversation with someone from another elevator company and explained to him all the problems.  He is here periodically in the Philippines.  He stated quite emphatically that these issues would never happen with their elevators.  He knows about Otis and where the ones used in the Philippines are made.  Their company makes them in China, too, he stated.  He said their company has strict quality control but he could not say that for Otis.  Well, the result explains that for itself.

As someone texted to me today:  The "ultimate solution is to change everything, all elevators that are not functioning since 2009.  In the coming meeting that must be demanded and insisted; otherwise, all will lose their investment"  I have news, we have already lost.

Who built our building?  There is a joint venture stated in the Master Deed with Meridien Development and Greenfield Development.  In the Century Properties Annual Report 2013 the following is written:

"Our Completed Projects"

"CENTURY PROPERTIES GROUPS has completed 18 projects or a total of 21 buildings in its 28-year history from residential condominiums and townhouses to medical buildings.... The following are several of the company's most important projects so far."

"SOHO CENTRAL PRIVATE RESIDENCES
The Soho Central Private Residences is considered the
Philippines’ first transport-oriented residential condominium,
designed with a walkway connection to the Metro Rail Transit
or the MRT.
Completed in 2009, the 41-story luxury residential and
commercial condominium is located near the intersection
of EDSA and Shaw Boulevard and is right in the heart of the
new Greenfield District in Mandaluyong City. Soho Central
is one of the first fully fitted and fully furnished residential
condominiums in the country."

You judge for yourself.
