Intercom, a sick joke
As I post messages and will continue this process of re-posting while sending new messages here at the new blog, I will give short stories such as this on issues I have discussed and written of elsewhere. Those messages may appear in the future.
I was just told today a short story about a conversation concerning the intercom which is garbage. I have sent letters about this to the management, distributor and even the maker of the phones in Spain. Of course no replies much less fixing the useless system.
There is someone who had a conversation recently with the new concierge personnel regarding the intercom. This person mentioned that if someone had to rely on the intercom in the case of an emergency where they would have a heart attack they would not be able to get help and would die. The reply from personnel at the concierge desk was "she is gonna die." Yes, a truthful fact given the total lack of action in this building since turnover and before to get everything in working order. A disgrace.
The person who had the talk said the intercom is just for show. I can verify this unending problem. Many times I have had to go down to the lobby to find out what the call was about after struggling to hear and be heard.
So the question is, what if someone does die and had tried to use the intercom? In the US, a major and justifiable lawsuit would follow. I guess we all need to get lawyers for this and so much more.
Additionally, when I do approach the concierge they say we tried to contact you in an accusing fashion. I then have to reproach explaining the facts and truth about the system and my effort to be understood. Yes, just another one of the annoying affairs of the condominium mismanagement.
So where are the geniuses on the Board on this and so much else. Time they do some work.
